My Cat is Gone :(

My most loved pet, Toonces, passed away yesterday afternoon.  Toonces has been a part of our family for 19 years.  He died peacefully at home.  It was so hard to watch him go.   We had a little family "funeral" for him.  We all spent the night crying our eyes out.  I can't say I am too much better today.  All day, I was expecting to see him in all his usual places and started crying when he wasn't there.    Anyone else loose a pet recently?  It's much harder than I ever imagined.

  1. New follower from the blog hop. I'm sorry about your cat. My cat is almost 18, and I'm going to have a mental breakdown when she goes to the great tuna can in the sky.

  6. Hi Amanda. Visiting from the Meet & Greet Hop. Oh, that is so hard to lose your kitty! I have an older cat too and I fear the day. I have been through it many times before and it never gets easy. The hardest part is when they are not where you expect them to be. Poor kitty! Poor you! My heart goes out to you.

  7. So sorry for your loss Amanda. Never having had pets growing up, I was amazed to discover how they can fill your heart when we brought home our first puppy three years ago. I can't imagine being without them now.

He was a beautiful cat :)

  8. sorry for your loss Amanda. We had a kitty (12 years old) that had to be put to sleep right before Christmas and there are times I swear I still see him in the house or something will remind me of him and those times are hard but he had cancer and I know he isn't suffering any more and that helps some with the pain.

  9. So sorry to hear about your cat. I can only imagine your pain after 19 years. I think I love my pets as much as anyone can and dread that day when they leave, can hardly think about it without getting choked up. I hope that you remember all the fun and joy your cat brought to your life and you gave to it and that your pain will soon ease with those thoughts.
