Travel Sewing Kit

Clover and Violet are hosting a Summertime Adventures tutorial blog hop.  This week is on travel sewing kits.  This is my favorite travel sewing kit.  The outside is made from pieces of fabric woven together.  Inside there is a large zipper pocket, two large velcro pockets, a small velcro pocket and a little pin cushion.  It is perfect for holding scissors, needles, thread, and misc. notions.

Turquoise Owl

A little turquoise owl from Ross today for $4.99!  The perfect item to make my day happy.

Lawn Chair Quilt Top

I pieced the Lawn Chair blocks together.  It is such a quick, fun pattern.  Just the right thing when you need a fabric fix!  I love the Tradewinds fabric line - it is so bright - looks great with all the white.  Now, how shall I quilt it?  (Of course I snapped the picture before I thought to press everything!)

Look what just arrived in the mail!

These darling Pyrex bowls just arrived at my door - courtesy of ebay where I was the highest bidder!
I am in love!  I don't have these sizes yet - they will add to my growing collection!

Cats & Quilts

The strippy quilt is done!  It's not an official quilt unless a cat sleeps on it!  It's Marbles' new favorite napping place!

Lawn Chair & Tradewinds - sounds like I need a vacation!

I am making the Moda Lawn Chair Quilt using Moda Tradewinds fabric - it is so cute!  More photos soon!

I saw this idea on Pintrest and thought I would make my own!  I found this country checker board at a garage sale for 50 cents.  It sure beat waiting for hubby to cut wood for me!!
I sanded it, primed it & spray painted it yellow.  I cut the vinyl on the cricut and added some scrapbook paper to the clothespins.  I used epoxy to adhere the clothespins to the board.  Added a little fabric to the bottom & drilled in a decorative knob.  I love it!  Now maybe I can keep all the socks together!

Sleeping Beauty Dress

Sally got to wear her Sleeping Beauty Peasant dress today - she looked very Princess-y!  I can't wait to get started on more princess-inspired dresses!!

Strippy Quilt Quilted!

Just finished quilting the Strippy Quilt.  I was going to do straight line stitching - but I decided to just stipple the whole thing instead.  I think I like it better that way - otherwise it might have felt too linear - this way it feels super cozy!

Skinny Strips Quilt

I love this Skinny Strips Quilt.  You can download the pattern for free HERE.

I found this version on Pinterest from Steph's Stuff. - I love her colors and her quilting.

This is my quilt top.  I just finished piecing it together.  It is from Moda's Fandango line.  Today I am quilting it.  I think I will use straight line quilting like in the example above.

This is how fun it is to sew with a Bengal cat.  As soon as anything goes on the floor - he's in it.  I have to lock him in a room while I pin baste a quilt!  The videos are pretty funny too!
