Wedding Gift Pillow

I made this pillow (18"x18") for a wedding gift. The couples' colors are black, white, and yellow. I appliqued their last name initial on it - it is quilted with a goose down pillow insert. I love it!

Family Tree Quilt & Vinyl Saying

I finished the tree quilt. I love it. I used Moda Fandango charm packs for the leaves and the border. I had to draw the tree myself because I didn't have a pattern and I am not very good at drawing - so it turned out pretty good considering I don't have any art skills.I stippled the cream background, then did 1/2 inch straight line stitching on the border and then quilted the tree a little.

I wanted a tree quilt so I could put this vinyl saying next to it - that is where the whole idea came from. I just love it. It took me 2+ hours to cut the vinyl and hang it evenly - that is way stressful - but worth it.

From Junk to storing Piano Music

I found this sad little piece at a garage sale. I snatched it up for $2. (garage sale tip: never ask what they want, always make an offer. It also helps to point out what poor condition it is in!)
Anyway, I knew it had potential. I sanded it, spray painted it, and then gave it an antique feel by sanding the edges and wiping it with a brown glaze. Then I attached fabric from the "Moda Fandango" line (which is inspiring my dining/living room). And I love it. It fits all the children's music perfectly. Yea!

Sewing Marathon

My friend came to visit for the weekend. All we did was buy fabric, sew, and listen to country music - that is so my kind of weekend! Here are a few projects we made. (There were 2 other small quilts and a table runner that I didn't get pictures of because we were so busy!)

The quilt is for her little boy's toddler bed.
These items are for her little girl's birthday. We made a skirt, headband, and cross-body purse. I love the fabrics!

The Rapunzel Bedroom

Here goes the transformation of a "Rapunzel" inspired room. Lots of spray paint will be involved!!!I got these frames from thrift shops and garage sales. I took the pictures and glass out and spray painted them heirloom white.

If you preorder the "Tangled" DVD from the Disney store you get 4 Tangled prints and a $10 coupon - no brainer! I knew I wanted to use the pictures in Sally's room, but they are a funny size. So, I used the over sized frames and just tacked the picture in the center - I love how it looks!
I already had this quilt but needed to fix it up a bit. I cut lavender circles and flowers out and appliqued/quilted them right on top and I love the new look it gives.

New flower center and the quilting is swirled
I finally painted this little night stand that I got at a garage sale - 2 of them for $5! It began as a yellow flowered night stand with brass handles - I'm sure you've seen the look. One can of Heirloom white later and I love it! We also spray painted the thrifted jewelry box and the thrifted mirror! (notice the Cinderella perfume, it was from Santa and smells so cute!)
I sewed a little quilt to go on top of the nightstand. I love how it turned out - super simple I think it took and hour start to hand sewn binding!
I used the puff balls from the birthday party and hung them in the Rapunzel room. The puff balls were made from white tissue paper and I lightly spray painted the edges pink or purple so they have a softer, blended feel.

Little Girl Birthday Gift

My daughter made this darling owl cross stitch and we sewed it into a bookmark. (I made 5 of these book marks for book club as gifts.) The elastic goes around the book, then attaches to the button so the bookmark never falls out!

Then we made a cute cross-body purse out of matching fabric. These are my favorite to make. I've got to make me one :)

Fabric Bird Wall Art

I saw this post at "Like the Rain" and I had to make it! I wanted it for Valentine's Day so I put all my cute red/pink fabrics to use. I love it - it makes me happy to look at it! Did you know I love fabric!!
I bought my frame at the GW (of course). Isn't it a lovely picture! I dismantled it then roughed up all the edges. I tied some picture hanging wire in it and then hung the birds.
I cut the birds out of a cereal box and glued the fabric.

Little Birdy Quilt

I made this cute "birdy" quilt for a friend who was very sick.   She was so happy when I showed up at her door and handed it to her.  It made me feel happy to!  That's the best part about quilts - giving them away to people you love and care about!!!
I love the hand-stitched birdy legs!

There is flannel on the back & some pieces of the main fabric pieced in there too.  Don't mind the kid's toys in the backyard :)

Halloween Owl Softies

The owls just keep getting cuter! This time we've added a 15" large owl to the family. Altogether we made 36 owls.
