Family Tree Quilt & Vinyl Saying
I finished the tree quilt. I love it. I used Moda Fandango charm packs for the leaves and the border. I had to draw the tree myself because I didn't have a pattern and I am not very good at drawing - so it turned out pretty good considering I don't have any art skills.I stippled the cream background, then did 1/2 inch straight line stitching on the border and then quilted the tree a little.
I wanted a tree quilt so I could put this vinyl saying next to it - that is where the whole idea came from. I just love it. It took me 2+ hours to cut the vinyl and hang it evenly - that is way stressful - but worth it.

From Junk to storing Piano Music
I found this sad little piece at a garage sale. I snatched it up for $2. (garage sale tip: never ask what they want, always make an offer. It also helps to point out what poor condition it is in!)
Anyway, I knew it had potential. I sanded it, spray painted it, and then gave it an antique feel by sanding the edges and wiping it with a brown glaze. Then I attached fabric from the "Moda Fandango" line (which is inspiring my dining/living room). And I love it. It fits all the children's music perfectly. Yea!
